Competition for the Alba Truffle Museum

The competition is taking place in Alba, in the heart of Monferrato. The project is spread across two different locations to house the truffle museum: Alba and Montà d'Alba. The aim is to unify the two sites and the surrounding area through a shared architectural language. In doing so, a museum spread across the local area is created, transforming the site into an open-air museum. The two sites are very different from one another in terms of type and character.

Unlike the site in Alba, which is effectively a restoration, the site in Montà d'Alba is more evocative and interactive. It is located in the town centre and is an underground site.

Once again, the project proposes a redesign of the square featuring a specific section that connects the public space with the museum, ensuring a supply of natural light and creating a unique atmosphere.
Inside the underground hall, surrounded and illuminated by the patios and light wells, visitors will find themselves in an evocative space that recalls the light and atmosphere of the forest and nature.

The Alba headquarters is located in the city centre; it serves as the main representative office and is housed within the former Dominican convent. The project proposes a redesign of the square with the aim of creating a cohesive whole with the other museums in the vicinity.
